From the producer: The Riesling was fermented on the skins and then remained on the skins for ten days of extended maceration. This gave the wine heightened color (orange tones) as well as more of the unique spiciness that Riesling is known for. We put it through full malolactic fermentation which gives it increased balance against the intensity of the extracted skin tannins. Early flavor profiles of the Riesling are Quince, Pomello, tart apple, and allspice. It continues to evolve with bottle aging.

A small family owned winery in Sonoma County, Bannister Wines was started in 1989 with the aim to produce honest and delicious Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Zinfandel. Brook collaborates with his mother Marty, on the winemaking and they have been making single vineyard, hand crafted wines for 2 decades, working with the top growers of Pinot since the 1980s.

WE 88
"Rather rich in mouthfeel but also tangy, this orange wine shows a true-to-type brassy color and offers ripe peach and floral aromas followed by mild orang- zest and dried apricot flavors. It dampens the typical varietal flavors, but is well made, fun and different." -JIM GORDON
