Domaine Michel Bregeon

Muscadet is hardly a secret. With its intense minerality and slender vivacity, the wines are summer-time favorites for real terroir expression at value prices. Bregeon's Muscadet is a gorgeous example of why: delicious wine for a bargain.

But Muscadet has another, still (somewhat) secret side: the 7 "Crus Communaux," Muscadet subregions officially recognized only in 2011.

Like Beaujolais' Crus, Muscadet's Crus Communaux are small regions with terroirs both exceptional and distinct. Their recognition has been a great way to help wine lovers discover what Muscadet can be when it comes from the very best sites.

The neatest part? Some of the greatest Muscadets We've ever tried have come from Gorges specialist and long-time Kermit-Lynch import Domaine Michel Bregeon. Bregeon has 65+ year-old vines, which mean low yields (30hl/ha) of concentrated, powerful fruit, which they farm organically. On top of that, they age their wines in underground, glass-lined tanks for an exceptionally long time.
