He even learned to make wine from his most famous neighbor, the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, where he worked for eight years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eHe's lucky to have vines in that hallowed village, where the planet’s most expensive Pinot Noir is grown. But we consumers are lucky that he also has vines just above the village, in a lieu-dit called Les Beaux Monts Lussot. Here we are in the Hautes Côtes, but still close enough to Vosne that you can look down easily at the million-dollar vines below.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eHe farms organically but like so many growers does not bother with certification. \"Lutte raisonée\" or \"reasonable practice\" is how he describes his farming technique. He learned about biodynamics and great cellar technique and the importance of long cellar aging during his tenure at DRC.
