Vincent Gaudry is a a meticulous farmer and has been certified biodynamic since way back in 2004. He also has parcels on all 3 geological soil types, and he has for years been using a small plot of 90 year old vines to replant diseased or dead vines using selection massale, so his plots are now all generally of a single clonal type. In the cellar he’s gentle and hands off. He uses both steel tanks and barrels (mostly older ones, though when buying new he consults a biodynamic calendar to see when the wood was harvested). He also makes different cuvées that help to highlight how his work can transfer the diversity of different terroirs into your glass.
