What started with a small group of French winemakers has spread across the Globe and nowhere has its influence taken a hold in such a deep and varied way as in the island continent of Australia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe epicenter of this tremor is in the Adelaide Hills, located in the Mount Lofty Range is South Australia, east of the City of Adelaide. This is where you will find the intrepid wife and husband team of Galit Shachaf and Alex Schulkin. In these cool and verdant hills they craft some of the most exciting, vibrant and delicious wines We've had from down under. They call their winery The Other Right. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDuring the day Alex works for the Australian Wine Research Institute, studying topics like texture for the mainstream wine industry. Once that work is done, he meets Galit at a small, nondescript warehouse just outside of town. There they make vibrant, gentle, lovely wines that explode in the glass and are free of additives, manipulations and the other trappings of the conventional winemaking he studies. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eGalit and Alex don't own their own vineyards. They purchase organic fruit from like-minded growers close to home. This being the Adelaide hills, there is no shortage of world class fruit\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eTheir approach to winemaking is in their words is, “seemingly lazy”. winemaking operation are kept to a reasonable minimum in an effort to take no unnecessary actions. Working with minimal tools requires and intense attention to detail. With absolutely zero additives added, there is no room for error.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003ePatience is king at The Other Right. This patience allows the wines to evolve slowly. And it produces wine with spellbinding aromas that are wild and youthful and deeply satisfying. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe term “Natural Wine” can inspire a strong reaction for or against, but what is clear to us is that every time we taste these wines all that noise begins to fade away. Not only because of how good they taste and smell but because they are filled with a sense of joy and wonder that seems all too rare in the modern world of wine.
