From high-altitude calcareous clay soils and vines averaging 40 years, she plants almost all Montepulciano grapes with a few rows of Trebbiano. The vines are trained in the traditional pergola style, all worked by hand with yields kept low but not excessively so as Iole prefers her wines with more acidity and freshness than power and extraction. The vineyards have never seen chemical additions and she continues to farm them organically.
