Vincent Bitouzet has been in partnership with famed importer Neil Rosenthal for over 30 years, bringing classic, old-school Burgundy to wine lovers in the U.S. His great-great-grandfather established the domaine, and when Vincent married Anne Prieur she brought along her own family history of winemaking along with significant vineyard holdings. Today the domaine is about 12 hectares in Volnay and Meursault.

All of the Bitouzet-Prieur vineyards are farmed organically. Copper is kept to a minimum and sexual confusion is employed to reduce insect infestations. winemaking is very traditional, native yeast fermentation and aging in mostly used barrique.

Professional Reviews

BH 91
"An even more floral blend is composed by notes of mostly essence of pear and apple. The finer and sleeker but not richer middle weight flavors possess a beguiling texture that carries over to the citrusy, clean and bone-dry finale. This stylish effort is very Puligny in character and well-worth checking out."

"Notes of citrus zest, warm bread, hazelnuts and white flowers introduce the 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Les Levrons, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and precise wine with a pretty core of fruit that's girdled by bright acids."

What importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant has to say about this wine...

Bitouzet’s lone Puligny-Montrachet is produced from a 0.6-hectare 1955 planting (half replanted in 2000) in the lieu-dit Les Levrons, which lies just below premier cru Les Referts on the slope in the northern part of the village. François crafts a Puligny of impeccable, crystalline clarity from this site, with more filigree, citrus-tinged fruit than his Meursaults, but with an equally authoritative, if less weighty, undercarriage of earth-derived minerality. It spends 16 months in 20-25% new barrels during its élevage.
