Damien Coquelet

When Damien Coquelet’s mother married Georges Descombes back in the mid ‘90’s he immediately began to help out in the vineyards; at the age of 10! Then, in 2007 at the age of 20 he started his own domaine. He currently owns 2.5 hectares of vines and leases another 6.5 for a total production of 9 hectares.

Just like his stepfather Georges, Damien farms everything organically. Indeed he spends most of his time in the vineyards ensuring that he gets the very best, healthiest grapes every vintage. This allows him to make the wines how he prefers, with very little intervention and zero additions, including sulphur in most cases. Clean, fresh and extremely drinkable without losing complexity is what Damien strives for. It has made him very popular in the wine bars and bottle shops of Paris, and he’s finally catching on here in the states too.
