The vineyard is named for the monks of Saint-Vivant de Vergy, who helped spread vines across Burgundy alongside the Abbey of Cîteaux. Until 1990 it belonged to a single grower from Aloxe-Corton, and l'Arlot made its first vintage here in 1991. 2024 kept growers on edge: a cool, damp flowering from around 10 June cost some clusters, but warm, fairly dry weather from August carried the survivors to a harvest in fine weather between 18 and 21 September.
