L'Arlot's parcel sits right on the Romanée-Saint-Vivant line. It came to the domaine in the early 1990s together with a plot of that Grand Cru, so it's about as well placed as Suchots gets. Since Géraldine Godot took full control in 2015, this Premeaux domaine has cut back on extraction and new oak. That lets a site like this come through as perfume rather than muscle, and the house has farmed biodynamically since 2003. 2024 was a nervy year. A cool, damp flowering in June cost some clusters, but the ones that survived were well aired, and a warm, fairly dry August ripened the fruit through to a harvest in good weather from 18 to 21 September.
