Domaine Denis Bachelet

Modest - even humble - Denis Bachelet has been working at the family domaine all his life - his first vintage was in 1982. The farming is meticulous, the vines are ancient and the yields are very low. Every single grape is scrutinized. They have striking purity regardless of appellation and can age for a decade or more.

Professional Reviews

Robert Parker

RP 97
"There are eight and a quarter barrels of Bachelet's prodigious 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes, a magical wine produced from 10.5 ouvrées of very old vines in this large grand cru's finest sector. Unfurling in the glass with an exquisite bouquet of cherries, cassis, rose petals, blood orange, rich soil tones and espresso roast, the wine is full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a deep and multidimensional core that's framed by rich structuring tannins, concluding with a long and resonant finish. This is a dramatic, textural and outgoing vintage of this wine, and it will offer a broad drinking window." -Robert Parker
