Faiveley's vines here run across both the upper and lower parts of the vineyard, on shallow soils that are mostly Premeaux limestone with very little clay. The house says that depending on the year it can be delicate and fragrant or wilder and more masculine, and either way it's a wine for the cellar. Buy one young and you're in for a long wait, but this 2006 has already done the waiting for you.
