The 2023 comes from organically farmed vines. Ghislaine Barthod learned her craft in an intensive apprenticeship with her father Gaston in the 1980s, at a domaine the family founded in the late 1920s as Barthod-Noellat. It's still a small estate, 5.86 hectares in Chambolle and Gilly with vines averaging more than 30 years old. (A bit of family trivia: Gaston once declared only Les Charmes as a premier cru and sold everything else as plain Chambolle-Musigny.)
