The very old Sauvignon Blanc vines grown in Kimmeridgian clay give this wine a remarkable verve and energy. Notes of citrus, tarragon, white flowers, and smoky stone explode on the nose leading to a super fresh, acid-driven palate that is long and linear.

Domaine Philippe Gilbert is one of the top producers in Menetou-Salon, a lesser-known AOC that borders Sancerre.
While obscure in comparison to its neighbor, Menetou-Salon has great terroirs; Gilbert's fantastic wines – some of the region's very best – are proof.
The domaine is equally adept at producing both mineral, fine-boned whites (Sauvignon Blanc) and silky, noble reds (Pinot Noir), both of which impress even at the entry-level domaine bottlings.
Grapes are hand-harvested and farming is biodynamic.

What importer Rosenthal Wine Merchant has to say about this wine...

This is the classic cuvée in white of the domaine. The grapes are hand-harvested, the fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and there is an elevage on the fine lees (without batonnage) of fourteen months before bottling. Our allocation for the US market is on the order of 3600 bottles per vintage.
