Bertrand and Denis Chevillon are fifth generation farmers and winemakers who have been running the venerable domaine named after their father, Robert, for several decades. As Burghound notes, their reputation for producing some of the very best wines in Nuits-St-Georges is impeccable. The bustling village of Nuits has been the commercial center of the Cote-de-Nuits for generations, a gateway to the liquid gold of some of the world's most famous vineyards. However, without any Grand Cru of its own, Nuits' own wines have been unfairly overlooked. But the wines of Chevillon are a happy exception. They have small parcels of old vines in some of the very best terroirs in the village, and so their 1er Crus have been appreciated by Burgundy lovers for many years. In the U.S., a long standing partnership with famed importer Kermit Lynch has been helpful too.
