Marsannay itself is the northernmost village appellation of the Côte d'Or and the only one entitled to make red, white and rosé under its own name, a quirk that has kept its prices honest while the rest of the Côte de Nuits ran away. This bottling comes from Guillaume Rouget, great-nephew of Henri Jayer, who founded Les Petits Lieux in 2023 with the oenologist Laure Guilloteau and makes the wines in Jayer's restored Vosne-Romanée cellar. The method is consistent across the range: organic farming, 100% destemming, indigenous yeasts in concrete and stainless, around 18 months in Burgundian barrels with minimal new oak. A site with this much structure suits the tiny, hard-won 2024 vintage.
