The farm sits in Cambria, on the cool, maritime stretch of the San Luis Obispo coast, with soils of felsite and pink quartz. Parr names Thierry Allemand, Jean-Louis Chave and Stéphane Tissot as his main inspirations, all farmers first and winemakers second, and that shows in how the place is run. The farming mixes permaculture and biodynamic principles with regenerative agriculture. In the cellar the house sticks to natural-yeast ferments and moves the wine by gravity into older barrels of various sizes, with nothing added. Every bottle is then filled, corked and labeled by hand. The coastal climate keeps alcohol low across the range.
