The grapes come from vines originally planted by Stanko Radikon's grandfather on the clay, marl, and limestone slopes of Oslavia, hard against the Slovenian border, where no synthetics have been used since 1995 and yields hover at 2.25 tons per acre. After Stanko's death in 2016, his son Sasa, wife Suzana, and daughter Ivana have carried on, making the wine the way it has always been made: about three months of skin contact, then long aging in large Slavonian oak botti.
