Part of the fruit grows on the sandy, calcareous hills of the Roero, on the left bank of the Tanaro, and part on the estate's own cooler vineyards down at Dogliani; the winemaking stays out of the way: stainless-steel fermentation with a short maceration, then about eight months in large Slavonian oak casks and four more in bottle, with no new oak anywhere. 2024 was a mixed Piedmont vintage, a fine summer undone by September rain and a harvest that ran into late October, and the wines came out lighter and lower in alcohol than a classic year - which suits a bottling built on perfume rather than weight.
