{"product_id":"robert-ampeau-fils-pommard-2002","title":"Robert Ampeau \u0026 Fils Pommard 2002","description":"The secret in this bottle is the address: Ampeau's village Pommard comes entirely from Les Vaumuriens, a single lieu-dit just above the Premier Cru Les Rugiens. You won't find that name anywhere on the label. Robert Ampeau bought the parcel in the 1950s. It sits 360 meters up, facing north-northeast, on brown clay-limestone and white marl over hard limestone, which makes it a higher, cooler-facing spot than the Pommard most people picture. The farming and winemaking at this Meursault domaine, now run by Michel Ampeau, are firmly old-fashioned. Ampeau was one of the first growers to let ground cover grow between the vines to limit how much water they take up. Ampeau's usual approach with this Pommard is to destem most of the grapes, ferment them with native yeast in cement tanks, then move the wine to barrel for malolactic fermentation and roughly ten months of aging. A next-door neighbor of Rugiens sold under the village name is exactly the kind of insider bottle we go looking for. As a 2002, it already has more than two decades on the clock.","brand":"Fleet Street Wine Merchants [FSW]","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":44064493568035,"sku":"SF-W-FSW-`AMP00502`-102026-4","price":149.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0044\/1208\/0163\/files\/Bottle-of-Robert-Ampeau-Fils-Pommard-2002-Red-Wine-Flatiron-SF.jpg?v=1792797346","url":"https:\/\/sf.flatiron-wines.com\/products\/robert-ampeau-fils-pommard-2002","provider":"Flatiron SF","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
