It's a Gamay-led blend with Grolleau Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, drawn from Jean-Pierre Guedon's organically farmed vines at Domaine Les Hautes Noelles in Muscadet Cotes de Grandlieu, south of Nantes, plus fruit bought from elsewhere in the Loire. The winemaking is low-intervention throughout, which is why it tastes like fruit rather than furniture. Vines run from ten to sixty years old, so there's a bit more depth here than the easy-drinking brief strictly requires. Guedon's Muscadet range is Ecocert-certified organic; the fruit for this red is farmed the same way without carrying the certification.
