Looking forward to the week ahead in San Francisco- February 17th, 2020
We hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Presidents Day off doing fun things. We're happy to see a lot of faces we normally see only once in awhile around the shop today. We've got plenty going on this week, both tasting and newsletter-wise, that should keep everyone coming back!
This Weeks Tastings
Wednesday February 19th
Meet the Winemaker: Jeff Pisoni from Pisoni Estate Wines from 5 to 7pm- The Pisoni Estate is the benchmark winery of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Jane and Eddie Pisoni started farming in the Salinas Valley in 1952 and the care and pride they consistently brought to their work has been taken up in turn by their son Gary and his children, Jeff and Mark. Today Jeff has taken up the mantel as winemaker and carries on the same philosophies his father established: low yields, small-lot vinification, minimal intervention. Meet Jeff and taste these outstanding wines that define an entire AVA!
Thursday February 20th
French Wines from Paris Wine Company Presented by Mission Wine Merchants from 5 to 7pm- Since 2012, Paris Wine Company has worked to select exceptional winemakers across France to help them export their wines. The vast majority of their producers work their own estate vineyards, practice organic or biodynamic farming methods, hand harvest, and use native yeast and minimal intervention during vinification and élevage. Join us for a tasting of a selection of their wines presented by regional distributor Mission Wine Merchants.
Friday February 21st
Meet the Winemaker: Jason Charles from Vinca Minor Wines from 5 to 7pm- Photographer turned waiter turned winemaker Jason Charles is certainly a man who enjoys wearing different hats. After experiences working in vineyards in Saint Emilion in Bordeaux and the Sonoma Coast, Jason started the Vinca Minor label to “explore the intersection between farmer, winemaker and artist.” He believes in organic farming, and attempts to make the wines as naturally as possible, always working with indigenous yeast, never filtering or fining, and racking only once before bottling. Pop on by for a splash of Jason's current releases and enjoy some great wine that doesn't need any makeup to be beautiful.
