This Weeks Tastings
Wednesday March 11th
Tasting with Whitcraft Winery from 5 to 7pm- Chris and Kathleen Whitcraft started Whitcraft Winery in 1985. Chris hosted a local wine radio program in Santa Barbara County for more than ten years and learned his craft from some of the best winemakers in California. What began as a hobby grew into both a passion and a lifestyle, the commitment to which is present to this day in every bottle of their wine. Today this passion for wine has been passed on to their children, Drake and Alyssa. While Chris passed in 2014, Drake continues to carry on the tradition of excellent winemaking within the Whitcraft family. Join us for a tasting of one of our favorite traditional small producers.
Thursday March 12th
South American Wine Exploration with Mission Wine Merchants from 5 to 7pm- Long gone are the days when all you could expect from a South American wine section was cookie-cutter varietal wines that taste like they could've come from anywhere. The new wave of noninterventionist winemaking has come to Argentine and Chilean shores and we couldn't be more excited. Stop by the shop for a fun and educational tasting of South American wines brought to us by Mission Wine Merchants.
Friday March 13th
The wines of Alto Adige with Weingut Kofererhof from 5 to 7pm- Acquired and managed by the Kerschbaumer family since 1940, the Kofererhof estate has existed in southern Tyrol, a region that more Austrian in spirit than it is Italian, for over 850 years. In 1995, the winery started to bottle its own wines after having sold its fruit for years. Günther Kerschbaumer is the magician behind these spellbinding wines that are immensely enjoyable in their youth, but will reward the patient if they are allowed to mature. This is a tasting you won't want to miss.
Featured in our weekly newsletter we're excited to be offering 2017 White Burgundies from Domaine Rollin, 2017 Côte-Rôties from Bernard Levet, Matthiasson's 2019 Rosé and another Marcel Lapierre opportunity from 2018.
