"The 2012 Riesling Grossi Laüe is from the Schonenbourg Grand Cru. Astonishingly, this is now ten years old but smells much younger. There is a lovely Mirabelle ripeness of juicy, sun-warmed fruit anchored in cooler stone. More air adds a lovely hint of dried hayflower. According to Jean-Frédéric, this is the slowest aging wine in their cellar and is the current release. The palate is even fruitier and juicier, yet with a beautiful contour of lemon, a subtle pithiness and a hint of smoke. This is smooth, sonorous and profound. The fact that there are 7.5g/L of residual sugar is a surprise; the finish seems drier and is long and mouth-watering. Serene and fragrant." -Anne Krebiehl MW

"Sourced in the best parts of the grand cru Schoenenbourg, so entirely from Keuper marls, the 2012 Riesling "Grossi Laüe" offers a clear, bright and fresh, very delicate and pure bouquet of white fruits with refreshing lemony and finely flinty notes. Full-bodied and quite rich but elegant, this is a fascinating, dense, long and intense salty Riesling with good concentration and a firm mineral and phenolic structure. The phenols could be softer, but I like this straight and robust character. This is a fabulous wine bottled with 12% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2022." -Stephan Reinhardt

"The 2012 is a quite different expression to the 2013. The vines experienced a more even growing season, and the result is a more savoury wine that has less fat and more focus. The crystalline structure holds pure stone fruits and a seam of stony, mineral acid which draws onto a long, fresh finish. Beautiful."

"A sleek, mouthwatering white, leading with petrol and spice notes that transition to aromas and flavors of ripe apricot and yellow plum, jasmine, pickled ginger and a touch of honeycomb. It's finely meshed and lithe, with the minerally underpinning returning to drive the lasting finish. Drink now through 2030."

"Lovely aromas of singed lemon peel, star anise and incense waft through the flavors of singed lemon peel, honeycomb, durian and flint in this complex, beautifully developed Riesling. It is finely knit with a suave texture, but well cut and intense just enough to keep echoing on the finish."
