Dunites sources Chardonnay for Cuvée Windward from cool-climate vineyards along the San Luis Obispo Coast. Marine influence and sandy soils give freshness and salinity.

The 2024 was whole-cluster pressed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in neutral oak for texture without overt oak flavor. A focused, coastal California Chardonnay.

Left All Wines

The Dunites were a collective of free-thinking artists, poets, nudists and philosophers who settled in the beach dunes of San Luis Obispo county in the 1930s.

Today's featured winery took their name from this counter culture, and the inspiration is telling: this is a California Grenache that's everything new and fresh about modern Central Coast interpretations of this variety.
