What is this wine?
Bruno Giacosa is one of Piedmont’s legendary estates, famed for producing some of the most elegant and age-worthy Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco. The Barolo (often called the “Falletto white label”) is their classic expression, sourced from estate vineyards around Serralunga d’Alba, including fruit from the prized Falletto cru. The 2020 vintage in Barolo was warm but balanced, producing wines with ripe fruit, supple tannins, and accessibility without sacrificing depth.
Why get this wine?
This is an iconic name in Barolo—a benchmark producer whose wines have shaped the region’s reputation worldwide. The 2020 Barolo offers the finesse and pedigree of Giacosa at a more approachable price and earlier drinking window than their riservas or single-cru bottlings. It’s both a collector’s bottle and a superb introduction to the estate.
What does this wine taste like?
Classic Nebbiolo aromas of red cherry, rose petal, and dried herbs with hints of licorice, tobacco, and tar. Medium- to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins, bright acidity, and a long, savory finish.
