Domaine Charvin is a small family estate run by Laurent Charvin in the northern Côtes‑du‑Rhône, bordering Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape. Le Poutet comes from old vines—many over 50, some nearly 80 years old—planted on sandy clay and galets soils for penetrating Rhônal character.

The blend centers on Grenache (~80 %) with Mourvèdre, Syrah and Carignan. The concrete élevage accentuates freshness, firm tannins and vibrant acidity. Positioned alongside Charvin’s Châteauneuf offerings, Le Poutet delivers impressive intensity and aging potential, often compared to top Châteauneuf cuvées in quality and energy
