The Cascina dei Massaretti property was a small farm with mostly fruit trees and vegetables when Pippo Parodi inherited it from his father. He became convinced that the land was well suited to vines and began planting the local Pigato and of course Rossese in the early 1960s.Today it is Pippo’s daughters Ivana and Brunella, along with son in law Mirco who are managing the estate. They are careful farmers and vineyard managers and they are very proud of their small production, hand crafted wines. The Rossese is made traditionally with short maceration of 8-10 days and ages in tanks until the following spring when it is bottled.
