There are dozens of excellent producers in Chassagne-Montrachet, but Domaine Ramonet is widely considered to be the best. That is quite remarkable given that the domaine is only three generations old (a spring chicken in Burgundy). A young Pierre Ramonet first began buying small parcels of land in Chassagne in the late 1920s, when there were deals to be had. Today his grandsons Jean-Claude and Noel have been at the helm for over 30 years. They are expert farmers and winemakers and have the talent and experience needed to make magical Chardonnay.
