"The 2020 Carignan Soberano from Maule was fermented as 30% whole bunches and aged for one year in foudres. Bright purple in the glass. The aromatic profile features candy-like notes against a sweet and sour cherry backdrop. Juicy and refreshing in the mouth, the finely grained tannins make for a nimble palate. A lingering, fruity red that presents a new style for Carignan in Chile." -Vinous

"The 2020 Soberano was produced with Cariñena from Cauquenes in Maule. It fermented with 30% full clusters and matured in foudre for 18 months. It's fruit-driven with notes of bright red berries and flowers, with very good freshness and a medium body with 13% alcohol and great balance. It has austerity and seriousness but with terrific balance and definition. It's spectacularly fresh and fine-boned for a year like 2020. 1,600 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2021."
