What is this wine?
Domaine Rémi Jobard, certified organic since 2008, is one of Meursault’s rising stars, known for long élevage on the lees and minimal new oak, producing wines of depth and precision. Genevrières is one of Meursault’s greatest premiers crus, famous for its elegance and refined minerality, often compared to Perrières. The 2020 vintage was warm yet balanced, yielding concentrated whites with superb freshness and long cellaring potential.

Why get this wine?
Jobard’s style emphasizes tension and terroir clarity, making his Genevrières one of the finest insider choices in Meursault. With 2020’s combination of richness and vibrancy, this bottling rivals more famous domaines while remaining under the radar. It’s a collectible, cellar-worthy wine that Burgundy lovers will treasure.

What does this wine taste like?
Lemon curd, pear, and peach with notes of hazelnut, white flowers, and chalky minerality. Medium- to full-bodied, layered yet taut, with vibrant acidity and a long, saline finish.

When should you drink this wine?
Best from 2024–2040. Decant if drinking young. Superb with lobster, scallops, roast chicken, or creamy cheeses.

Rémi Jobard is the nephew of François Jobard, a producer that is more famous in this country because of his Kermit Lynch connection (in France Rémi is better known).

Rémi has lovely old vines in many of Meursault's best spots. He farms organically and makes wines in the style that we and most of our customers are looking for these days: mineral nuance and balance, rather than flash and new oak. He achieves this by picking early, extracting gently in the winery, and then aging much of the wine in larger casks in addition to traditional barriques.

"Airy and elegant aromas freely offer up their nuances of exotic tea, spice and essence of white peach. The elegance continues onto the refined, pure and energetic middle weight flavors that exude evident minerality on the balanced and harmonious finish that displays excellent length. This beautiful effort is quite Zen-like." -Allen Meadows
