From the producer: Anne Sigaut takes special care of these ancient vines. Especially because this terroir's potential is closer to one of a premier cru than of a village appellation. Its density requires 30% aging in new barrels. This cuvée features outstanding complexity when it comes to the nose: pepper notes make way for floral aromas reminiscent of blooming roses. On the palate, its lengthy body offers simultaneously fine and dense tannins. Notice a hint of peppermint, which rounds up the palate nicely for a perfect balance. To pair with saddles of rabbit and prunes for example.

Left Cote de Nuits

Domaine Sigaut makes Chambolle for Chambolle-lovers. Organic farming from flowering to harvest. Natural-yeast fermentations, light extractions and minimal oak influence. A light touch throughout.

The Sigauts have very good terroir, though not much of it. Their seven hectares include old vines in fantastic Premier Crus, like their seventy-year-old Sentiers vines. Their old vines dig deep into the limestone mother rock responsible for so much of Chambolles’ character. No wonder the wines are as profound as they are subtle.

"The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Bussi?res Vieilles Vignes is showing very well, exhibiting a deep bouquet of cherries and cassis mingled with hints of dark chocolate and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy, it's built around ripe acids and powdery tannins. This is quite a ripe, demonstrative Bussi?res, and it will drink well young." -Robert Parker
