Denis Bachelet, based in Gevrey-Chambertin, is renowned for crafting meticulous, small-lot Pinot Noir. His Bourgogne Rouge comes from old-vine parcels near Gevrey, planted on limestone-rich soils.

Hand-harvested fruit is fermented traditionally and aged in French oak, giving depth beyond its appellation. The 2022 shows the precision and purity that make Bachelet’s wines highly sought after.

Modest - even humble - Denis Bachelet has been working at the family domaine all his life - his first vintage was in 1982. The farming is meticulous, the vines are ancient and the yields are very low. Every single grape is scrutinized. They have striking purity regardless of appellation and can age for a decade or more.

Robert Parker

"The 2023 Chiroubles Chatenay opens with alluring aromas of chocolate powder, blackberry and floral violet. On the palate, tangy cherries and blueberries allot vibrancy to its medium to full-bodied frame. Powdery tannins melt smoothly, dusting the mouth, while its broad-shouldered structure remains fluid, tapering to a chalky, refined finish." -Kenna Wells
