Faiveley is an Iconic Domaine in the best sense of the term. They have both history and pedigree (almost 200 years and 7 generations old), but also innovation as current managers Erwan and Eve Faiveley look to the future. For years, they were considered one of the large, but high quality, negociants in Burgundy – companies that source grapes from third-party growers for wine production. But now they are a true domaine, with many prized holdings in Burgundy, farmed organically, that yield some of the region’s most sought-after wines.

There is superb mid-palate density to the opulent yet serious big-bodied flavors that are shaped by a firm core of dense and very firm tannins on the hugely long yet impeccably well-balanced finish. This muscular effort is also going to need extended cellaring if you wish to see its full, and ample, potential realized."

Intuition tells me this is a great Mazis-Chambertin; it will just need time."
