Thierry Pillot is killing it! He is a super-talented vigneron, and since he has taken over his family's domain the quality has gone through the roof. He is one of those rare characters who is equally good at making red and white wines.

They have 13 hectares of vines in the domaine, 1/3 red and 2/3 white. The whites are very concentrated because of the frost and the reds are supple and elegant, really classic. Like many young vignerons, Thierry has also set up a micro-negociant under his own name.

"This is aromatically quite similar to the straight Chassagne but here the petrol character is more pronounced. There is again a step up in volume to the extract-rich medium weight flavors that conclude in a bone-dry, markedly austere and quite serious finale. This is positively Cistercian in character and as such, it may be more austere than some would prefer though with that said, the quality is clearly first-rate for its level. Recommended for those who intend to age it."

The delineated nose offers touches of chalk filtering through the citrus fruit - focused and precise rather than powerful. The well-balanced palate has a sapid entry, very well-knit, blackcurrant leaf suffusing the citrus fruit, orange zest and quince towards the finish, conveying a real sense of energy.
