Meo-Camuzet is a name readily familiar to almost any Burgundy fan. It's not surprising given the family's impressive collection of some of the best parcels of 1er and Grand Crus in the Cotes de Nuits. And then there's the storied history including a direct connection and influence from the famous Henri Jayer. One of the great stars of Vosne Romanee and all of Burgundy, Meo's wines have an incredible combination of intensity and purity that has marveled Burg-lovers for decades.

"Strong reduction blocks an evaluation of the nose at present. The very rich and quite round medium-bodied flavors possess fine mid-palate volume as well as a satiny texture, all wrapped in a wonderfully long and superbly refined finish that delivers fine power and seriously good depth and length. As it usually is this built-to-age beauty is a robust but not rustic example of the appellation. "

"Bright red-ruby. Pure, expressive aromas and flavors of black cherry and menthol lifted by a topnote of spearmint. Densely packed, seamless and refined on the palate, with firm underlying acidity giving the wine a very primary quality. One senses that this very promising Echézeaux will require several years in the bottle to display its inherent generosity. Méo's vines in Les Rouges du Bas were planted in 1950. He did a lot of replanting when he took over the domain in 1989, which he believes has added an extra layer of ripeness to the wine. "

"The 2014 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a delightful, floral, cassis and red cherry-scented bouquet with fine mineralité, much more convincing than the Clos Vougeot. The palate is medium-bodied with quite juicy tannin. There is good substance and body here with a touch of spice filtering through on the long peacock's tail of a finish. Not a match for the Cros Parantoux perhaps, but still a serious proposition."

"A silky red, seamlessly integrated and bursting with black cherry and blackberry fruit. The toasty oak adds light char and chocolate accents, and the lingering aftertaste echoes the fruit and spice elements while picking up a chalky, minerally detail. Best from 2020 through 2040."
