Bâtard-Montrachet's 11.97 hectares sit on the lowest part of the Grand Cru slope, where deeper, pebbly limestone soils with higher clay content produce wines of power, richness, and structured complexity. Thierry Pillot's parcel holds vines over 70 years old on the Puligny side. His non-interventionist approach—older 350-liter barrels, minimal new oak, no bâtonnage, organic farming, 12 months barrel then six months tank—lets the terroir lead. The 2018 vintage is rich, bold, yet unwaveringly elegant.
