Il Poggione has always been a good source of high quality, reliable Brunello. Unlike so many other producers, they have always taken their Rosso seriously. While some wineries like to emphasize the “young and fresh” side of Rosso – by aging the wines strictly in steel, for example – Il Poggione believes that their Rosso should at least echo the experience of drinking full on Brunello, and their Rosso receives a traditional elevage in larger barrels.
