"The I Cacciagalli estate focuses on natural wines, some of which are made in clay amphorae (with long skin macerations, and fermentations with ambient yeasts). This expression, the 2017 Phos, shows pretty elegance and tightness that is further underscored by the naturally high tannins of the Aglianico grape. This wine opens a window onto the grape in its most naked state. This is a rare perspective on a variety that is often plied with extra oak and aging time. Instead, here you taste the natural bitterness of the skins with dark fruit flavors that are glossy and bright. This is an elegant and graceful wine. Some 4,500 bottles were made." -Robert Parker
