Since the 1950's Mayacamas Vineyards has made a name for themselves in being one of the best producers of California Cabernet - not a small feat! The winery takes a traditional and almost old world approach to all of their wines, preserving the identity and terroir of their mountain fruit (mostly from Mt. Veeder), in order to create wines that are meant to last. Older expressions of their wines are compelling and truly complex, a treat for those who have patience!

"The 2023 Chardonnay is a potent mountain Chardonnay endowed with tremendous phenolic structure and overall depth. Lemon peel, sage, mint, chamomile and dried flowers are front and center. Broad and imposing, with notable depth, the 2023 is a wine to cellar for at least a few years. Strong earthy and mineral inflections explode on the finish. The 2023 spent ten months in barrel prior to bottling, half in large-format oak." -Antonio Galloni
