The Nahe is one of Germany’s newer delineated wine regions, but in that short time it has shot to superstar status. Before the German Wine Law of 1971, grapes from the region were simply labelled Rhein wines and garnered no distinction from them.

Pioneering winemakers, like Helmut Dönnhoff, produce expressive, long lived wines of gorgeously ripe fruit, laser pointers and finesse, sought out by wine lovers everywhere. Others, like Kruger-Rumpf have cornered the market on delicious while Caroline Diel is giving everyone a run for their money with her sleek sparkling wines.
