What is this wine?
Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, based in Vosne-Romanée and now led by Charles Lachaux, has become one of Burgundy’s most dynamic and sought-after domaines. The style emphasizes whole-cluster fermentations, minimal new oak, and precision farming to highlight terroir. Clos des Corvées Pagets is a premier cru monopole in Nuits-Saint-Georges, with clay-limestone soils that produce Pinot Noir of depth and structure but with more finesse than many of the village’s crus further south. The 2015 vintage was warm and generous, yielding deeply concentrated yet balanced wines with superb aging potential.

Why get this wine?
Charles Lachaux has elevated Arnoux-Lachaux into cult territory, with demand for his wines far exceeding supply. Clos des Corvées Pagets offers a rare combination: a monopole site, a benchmark vintage, and the domaine’s modern, aromatic, whole-cluster style. For collectors, it is a highly distinctive Nuits-Saint-Georges of both power and elegance.

What does this wine taste like?
Dark cherry, blackberry, and raspberry layered with rose petal, exotic spice, and herbal lift from whole clusters. Structured yet silky, with fine tannins, lively acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish.

When should you drink this wine?
Best 2025–2040. Decant young bottles to reveal aromatics. Excellent with duck, venison, or truffle-infused dishes.

Professional Reviews

Burghound

"Pronounced floral aromas add a touch of elegance to the well-layered combination of red currant, plum, earth and a hint of tea. There is both good punch and muscle to the focused medium-bodied flavors that exhibit a subtle minerality on the saline, complex and beautifully persistent finish. This is lovely and much less Nuits in character than the Procès though with that said, this too is going to require extended cellaring."

"Medium red. Sexy aromas of raspberry, blackberry, flowers and spices. A step up in texture from Les Procès, but with its fat and sweetness nicely countered by harmonious acidity. This juicy wine finishes firm and floral, if without quite the precision or thrust of Les Procès." -Stephen Tanzer

"The 2015 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Corvées Pagets, one of Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux's emblematic wines, wafts from the glass with a complex bouquet of plums, candied peel, violets and raspberries. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and complete, with a deep core of fruit, crystalline purity, and fine-grained but chalky tannins. Structurally, this is classic Premeaux." -William Kelley

"Light to mid cherry. Bright, lightly herbal red fruit. Much drier on the palate than the village Vosne but longer too. Less immediate pleasure and more for the longer term. Tight and well defined, persistent too."
