A walled vineyard (clos) in which Pillot is the largest single owner, holding just over one hectare split equally between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The clos format—historically significant in Burgundy—indicates a protected, defined terroir. Thierry Pillot's white from this site shows the same minimal-intervention approach: no bâtonnage, minimal new oak, natural fermentation, organic farming, unfiltered. The 2021 vintage adds mineral tension to the site's structured, precise character.

Left Premier Cru Burgundy

Thierry Pillot is killing it! He is a super-talented vigneron, and since he has taken over his family's domain the quality has gone through the roof. He is one of those rare characters who is equally good at making red and white wines.

They have 13 hectares of vines in the domaine, 1/3 red and 2/3 white. The whites are very concentrated because of the frost and the reds are supple and elegant, really classic. Like many young vignerons, Thierry has also set up a micro-negociant under his own name.
