What is this wine?
The Gump Hof estate, run by Markus Prackwieser, is a small family domaine in Fiè allo Sciliar, Alto Adige, with terraced vineyards ranging from 400–800m above sea level. Mediaevum is his Vernatsch (aka Schiava), a native red grape long rooted in South Tyrol. From high-altitude, limestone- and porphyry-rich soils, Markus crafts a light, aromatic style that’s both traditional and fresh. The 2023 vintage was cool and balanced, yielding precise, lively wines.
