"Markus Prackwieser makes exemplary wines at his Gump Hof estate in the Isarco Valley from vineyards on the steep slopes of the Sciliar mountainside at between 400m and 800m. His delightful Schiava is leafy and spicy, with underlying notes of plum and aniseed. The full-flavoured, balanced palate has notes of liquorice, aniseed and clove, with a light tannic grip to give the wine traction, plus an aromatic finish of floral-toned, red fruits. Promises well."
