A wheated bourbon with a legendary pedigree. Old Fitzgerald was originally introduced in 1870 as a private-label bourbon for railroad and steamship barons. Pappy Van Winkle later acquired the brand and introduced the 'Whisper of Wheat'—substituting wheat for rye in the mash bill (68% corn, 20% wheat, 12% malted barley)—creating a softer, sweeter bourbon style. Now produced by Heaven Hill at their Bernheim Distillery in Louisville, this Bottled in Bond expression ages a minimum of seven years in Level 3 charred new American oak. 100 proof.
