What is this wine?
Donnafugata, one of Sicily’s most admired estates, crafts wines across the island, including on the slopes of Mount Etna. Sul Vulcano (“on the volcano”) is their Etna Bianco, made primarily from Carricante grown on high-altitude, volcanic soils. Fermented in stainless steel with partial lees aging, it highlights the minerality and freshness that define Etna whites. The 2021 vintage was cool and balanced, yielding wines of aromatic lift and precise structure.
