What is this wine?
Quentin Cailleau’s Anjou Blanc “Patience” 2023 is a biodynamically farmed Chenin Blanc from the schist and quartz soils of Rablay-sur-Layon in the Loire Valley. Cailleau, a protégé of Richard Leroy and a rising star in Anjou, crafts his wines with minimal intervention—native yeast fermentations, long lees aging, and no fining or filtration. Patience comes from older vines and is aged in neutral oak, yielding a layered, mineral-driven white that perfectly reflects its terroir.
Why get this wine?
Cailleau’s wines are among the most exciting new voices in the Loire. Patience 2023 demonstrates his signature balance of precision and texture—a wine that’s both crystalline and deep. It’s a world-class Chenin Blanc in the making, offering the energy of Richard Leroy and the elegance of Thomas Batardière, all at a remarkable value for its quality and rarity.
