When the New York importer for Jacques Sélosse, Jérôme Prévost, Agrapart and Larmandier-Bernier adds a new Champagne grower to their portfolio, we pay attention. Polaner Selections was tipped off to Champagne Tellier’s excellent — and remarkably affordable — cuvées by Aurélien Laherte, a friend and neighbor who occasionally buys grapes from brothers Quentin and Alexandre.
The Tellier brothers come from a long line of grape growers and vineyard tenders, but their eponymous estate was only launched in 2016. They work 3 hectares of vines in the villages of Moussy, Pierry, Chavot (home to Laherte and the viral sensation of Champagne Chavost), and the Grand Cru of Cramant.
