From the producer: Our BloodRoot Undertow Proprietary Red Blend is a blend of Bordeaux and Rhone varieties from some of Northern California's most expressive terroirs. In the

2021 edition Cabernet plays a more prominent role than in the past, making up a whopping 65% of the final blend. It was aged in 28% new French oak and comes primarily from Bedrock and Bellissimo Vineyards. Merlot (18%) from Bedrock Vineyard and Cab Franc (4%) from a choice Bennett Valley site, aged in once used and neutral wood, make up the remainder of the Bordeaux components.

On the Rhone side we have Syrah (10%) from Grist Vineyard in Dry Creek Valley which was fermented with 50% whole cluster and Grenache (3%) from Windsor Oaks, both aged in neutral wood completing the blend. 

The wine is a streamlined and classy specimen, sporting flavors of red currant,
plum, white pepper, asian spice and fresh tobacco. This stylish red will pull you
under its spell.
